My favorite thing about working for Wildland is the fulfillment of our mission to connect people with … well, wild lands. Utah has plenty of course (all we need to do is protect them).
I spend most of my free time out exploring our incredible southern Utah surroundings. And while my miles may be minimal thanks to a 3-year-old (pictured) in tow, it’s easy to develop a deep sense of appreciation for this canyon country that we call home.
I can honestly and enthusiastically tell you that Wildland’s Utah backpacking routes are the best that this incredible region has to offer. These are our favorite backpacking trips in southern Utah.
Historic supply route through the heart of canyon country. 3 to 5 days.
The last-mapped landscape in the lower-48. Zion-like Narrows in the middle of the edge of the earth. 6 days.
The longest, deepest slot canyon in the world. Perfect beginner-level backpacking adventure. 3 days.
Escalante’s premiere canyon experience. Glen Canyon as it once was. 4 days.
Your own, private Zion. Think Zion Canyon. Top to bottom. But … no road. No crowds. 5 days.
